About Me

When I was in fifth grade, I stayed up all night reading Tom Sawyer. Yes, it was because I had a test the next day and I had been putting it off, but that’s beside the point. I couldn’t put it down. My eyes wouldn’t close and sleep never came. The themes of freedom, mischief, magic, and adventure stirred my soul and tickled my imagination. They continue to do so to this day. As I have grown, I have seen myself and those around me, lose some of this childlike sense of wonder about life, in favor of comfort, cynicism, and playing by the rules. This blog is where I endeavor to take it back.

I recently turned 26, and until about two years ago, I did what was expected of me, I played by the rules. I went to school, got good enough grades, and went to college. Not completely sold on what I wanted to do, but everyone told me that college was necessary to be successful, so off I went! After that, I did my required internship and was off to start my real life. The only problem was, that at age 24, it seemed odd to me that this was my first opportunity to really start making choices for myself. And even with this new found freedom, I was expected to start a career in the field I had spend so many hours and dollars on. Well, screw that. I took a hard right turn and, inspired by my love of being in the wild outdoors, I became an outdoor instructor. Two years later, I know that following a passion I’ve had since I was a child was the best choice I could have ever made. I’m now at another junction in my life, and instead of following the comfortable path and chasing after a job, I’ve decided to once again listen to who I really am and rediscover parts of me I have ignored.

My goal is to create a platform where I can write about a few things:

1.) To live an uncompromising life and share the stories and insights I have learned along the way so that you may be inspired to do the same.

2.) To explore the passions of my inner-child and share those works with all of you fine folks, in order to create an unconventional education where we give and take feedback with one another. I encourage you to comment with (respectful) advice, as well as leave me an update on what you are working on and how I may help! My personal passions include:

  • Music
  • Writing
  • Nature
  • Travel
  • Philosophy
  • Culture/History/Social Dynamics
  • Health/Fitness
  • Side Hustles/Financial Freedom
  • Human Potential
  • All Things Nerdy

3.) To explore the best methods for living freely and purposefully, so that we may never compromise on what we truly want out of life. I’m a research junkie and love to collect my findings into simple, concise, and actionable ideas. Let me know what strategies work for you along the way or if you would like to see an article about a subject you are interested in.

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help out as best I can. I wish you the best of luck and hope that, together, we can rediscover the wonder of living.
